Angolan diplomats to be trained in Peruvian Diplomatic Academy

The Peruvian Foreign Minister, Gonzalo Gutierrez Reinel, ensured the ambassador of Angola to Brazil and Peru, Nelson Cosme, that Angolan diplomats will be able to join the Diplomatic Academy Javier Perez de Cuellar of Peru, reported Angola News Agency.

The issue was discussed during an audience that head of the Peruvian diplomacy granted in Lima to the Angolan Ambassador Nelson Cosme.

The Diplomatic Academy of Peru, whose sponsor was the Ex- UN secretary general, had an outstanding performance in the process of pacification of South-West Africa and the consequent independence of Namibia. It is a reputable training institution that receives diplomats from all over the world.

Angola and Peru are engaged in enhancing bilateral relations. Peru expects to appoint soon an ambassador to Angola as part of its project to expand its presence in Africa.

Last week, Angola and Peru held talks in Lima between delegations headed by the Angolan Ambassador, Nelson Cosme, and the general director for Africa and the Middle East, Ambassador Santiago Marcovich.

While in the Peruvian capital, the parties decided to work on a schedule of actions aimed at materializing the General Agreement on Political Cooperation, Scientific, Technical and Cultural deal, the memorandum of understanding on the regular political consultations and the agreement on visa facilitation for diplomatic and service passports.
