Peru’s Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) and DHL Express signed a cooperation agreement in order to encourage and facilitate exports of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Magali Silva informed.

"The agreement will allow 5,000 SMEs in Lima and regions, working with PromPeru, to get trained in foreign trade, and will result in discounts and strategic alliances to help them further boost their exports to destinations like the United States, Latin America and Europe," she said.

The accord will also help the 30,000 microenterprises working in e-commerce platforms such as Pymes al Mundo.

Businesses will be trained on issues related to customs, transit, international transport and logistics. Theoretical and practical workshops will be offered, too.

Likewise, a 15% discount will be provided by DHL Express for exporting SMEs engaged in activities contemplated under this agreement.
