Afghanistan and Peru on Thursday signed an agreement on diplomatic relationship on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, an Afghan foreign ministry official said.
The agreement was signed between Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul and his Peruvian counterpart Rafael Roncagliolo in the morning, Janan Mosazai, the Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said Peru had a lot to offer Afghanistan in terms of countering narcotics, developing natural resources and boosting Afghanistan’s economy through bilateral ties, thefrontierpost.com reported.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmai Rassoul continued his meetings with foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the ongoing UN assembly.
