With 1,035,265 spectators in just 12 days of its release, the film "A los 40" has become the second most-watched movie in the history of Peruvian cinema, knocking "Cementerio General" off its pedestal.
"Asu Mare" is the first-most watched film in the Andean nation with more than 3 million tickets sold .The movie was screened in the United States and in several Latin American countries, including Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia and Venezuela.
Miguel Valladares, general producer of "Asu Mare" and "A los 40", thanked the public for supporting his productions, according to daily "El Comercio".
"We are really grateful to the public. Being the company with the two most-watched films in the history of Peruvian cinema has been the achievement of a great team", Valladares said
"The preference to Peruvian film was something we dreamed. Thanks for appreciating national productions",he added..
Directed by Bruno Ascenso, the national comedy, stars Carlos Alcántara, Johanna San Miguel, Wendy Ramos, Carlos Carlín, Andrés Wiese, Gianella Neyra,, Katia Condos and Lali Espósito.
"A los 40" tells the story of seven people aged 40 who attend a school reunion where they relive moments from his past that will be filled with fun and emotional situations.
