The Peruvian triumph over Venezuela was not easy, since the Venezuelans won the 1st and 4th sets, forcing a 5th set to determine the winner.

The Peruvian team beat Venezuela 15-25, 25-17, 25-14, 20-25 and 15-11 in almost 2 hours of game.

The match took place at Jorge Revilla Aldana Coliseum in the city of Sucre, Bolivia.

“I’m very proud of my team. We won the game thanks to the Peruvians' traditional strength and spirit,” said Peruvian player Patricia Soto.

Earlier Thursday, the men’s national volleyball team won silver medal after beating Ecuador 3-0.
