World’s largest cebiche to be tasted by 3,000 people on Sunday

Lima, Dec. 02 (ANDINA).- On Sunday, about 3,000 people will enjoy the “world’s largest cebiche” to be prepared using 5 tons of fish in order to break the Largest Cebiche Guinness World Record set by Mexicans.

Peru’s Vargas Llosa to be honored by Venezuelan university

Lima, Dec. 02 (ANDINA).- Venezuela’s Simón Bolivar University will confer the Doctor Honoris Causa degree to the Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa on December 8, recognizing his work as literary writer and defender of the freedom's principle.



President García evaluates Peru's university situation

Lima, Dic. 02 (ANDINA).- The head of state, Alan García, met today at the Government Palace with the president of the National Assembly of Rectors (ANR), Iván Rodríguez Chávez, with whom he evaluated the situation of Peruvian universities, mainly national universities.



Chile’s Algeciras to build corporate hotels in Lima, Trujillo & Arequipa

Lima, Dec. 02 (ANDINA).- The Chilean group Algeciras announced Tuesday plans to build corporate hotels in Lima, Trujillo and Arequipa in the medium term, in order to expand its new hotel chain Foresta Hotel & Suites in the country.



Altra Investments guarantees $75 million to invest in Peru and Colombia

Lima, Dec. 02 (ANDINA).- Fund manager Altra Investments announced today the partial close of its new fund "Altra - FCP I" with 75 million dollars, resources that will be invested mainly in countries of the Andean region and Central America, in particular Colombia and Peru.


Evidence from dirty teeth: ancient Peruvians ate well

Lima, Dec. 02 (ANDINA).- Starch grains preserved on human teeth reveal that ancient Peruvians ate a variety of cultivated crops including squash, beans, peanuts and the fruit of cultivated pacay trees.


Peru's country risk rose to 5.60 points

Lima, Dec. 02 (ANDINA).- Peru's country risk increased 30 basic points to close Monday at 5.60 percent points, according to JP Morgan's EMBI+ Peru.


Peru: Expedition verifies finding of possible pre-Inca citadel in Amazonas

Bagua Grande, Dec. 02 (ANDINA).- An expedition of local authorities verified the finding of a possible pre-Inca citadel at the Pachallama hill, located in the village of La Palma, province of Utcubamba (Peru’s Amazonas), after this was reported by people of the zone.
