AméricaEconomía Intelligence published a ranking of the 500 largest firms in Peru and the 500 largest in Latin America.
"This edition features the ranking of the 500 largest companies in Latin America, including 30 Peruvian companies, that is, eight more than in the previous version," the magazine said.
The study reveals that the Peruvian companies showed very good performance in 2011, with a 19.1 percent increase in turnover compared to 2010.
Despite a slowdown in growth compared to the 20.6 percent year-on-year increase seen in 2010, the result is very positive given that 2011 was an election year in which the first half was dominated by concern about the future of the economic model, the study noted.
"Fortunately, panic among Peruvian businessmen did not last long after the new government showed signs of continuity, thus reviving business activity," it added.
