The most influential media outlets in the U.S. including The Washington Post, El Nuevo Herald, Spanish-language CNN and Univision stressed the fact that Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has become the first Latin American leader to visit counterpart Donald Trump since he took office.
The websites provide details on the meeting, scheduled for today at 3:00 PM (local time), and underline Peru is one of the few countries in South America with a free trade agreement with the United States.
An article reports the gathering is intended to review the bilateral agenda in a bid to strengthen diplomatic relations, and the business perspective with the United States, considered the second largest destination for Peruvian exports.
Moreover, according to news sites, the agenda will cover a bunch of issues like bilateral cooperation, strengthening of democracy, fight against drugs, economic growth, among others.
On the other hand, Univision says that one of the things Mr. Kuczynski and Mr. Trump have in common is their concern over Venezuela's situation.
