Lima, Feb. 27.
Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's recent trip to the United States and meeting with President Donald Trump will have a positive impact on the countries' bilateral trade, PPK party legislator Guido Lombardi affirmed.
"I think it is a paramount, positive visit, since we are the first country in the region to have contact with the new president of the United States," the congressman said.
"And above all, because Peruvian migrants and foreign trade were discussed," he added.
Concerning U.S.-based Peruvians, the lawmaker said the country should wait and see President Trump's joint response to other large Latino communities.
In this respect, he suggested a dialogue with other LatAm nations to come up with an integral proposal for immigrants in the United States.
Lombardi also highlighted Mr. Kuczynski's decoration at Princeton University, his alma mater and one of the most prestigious schools in the U.S.
There, the Peruvian leader became the 2017 James Madison Medal recipient for his distinguished career and outstanding public service.
