Huamanga (Ayacucho region), Jun. 22.
The Government keeps working, pursuing social revolution and remaining optimistic despite hardships, Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski said on Thursday.

"I want to be optimistic. Every morning in Lima, inhabitants get a newspaper, read columnists' articles, and think they are in the middle of a catastrophe, that everything is wrong, which is not true," he affirmed.

Speaking from Huamanga, the 78-year-old said his government keeps working and pursuing the social revolution brought about to provide basic services to the population; however, it will take long because the administration needs to make up for the lost time.

He affirmed his goal is to make Peru a modern country while preserving its millenary culture.

"We won't give up and will continue to work in spite of the wind blowing against us. We will remain optimistic. Peru will always be our top priority," he was quoted as saying during the launch of Ayacucho Waytarin program.

Improving education towards independence bicentennial

The Head of State said he will promote culture and education in all regions instead of building monuments towards Lima's independence bicentennial (2021) and Ayacucho Battle's bicentennial (2024).

Mr. Kuczynski underscored Ayacucho region's rich culture and variety, present in its craftwork and Amazon region.
