New Peruvian restaurant opens in Tokyo

As part of celebrations for National Holidays in Peru and under the auspices of the Peruvian Embassy to Japan, a Peruvian restaurant called "Miraflores" has opened in the trendy neighborhood of Daikanyama in Shibuya district, Tokyo, Japan.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes from traditional Peruvian cuisine, prepared by professional chefs with extensive experience in various Peruvian restaurants.

In this regard, Peru’s ambassador to Japan, Juan Carlos Capuñay, highlighted the presence of the Peruvian cuisine in the Japanese market, which is considered highly competitive and demanding.

He noted that in 2008 the authoritative French gastronomy guide Michelin hailed Tokyo as the city with the largest number of high-class restaurants in the world.

The opening ceremony coincides with other significant cultural events on the occasion of Fiestas Patrias (National Holidays) such as a Sicán Culture exhibition on July 14 and a Pisco Promotion Festival at Hilton Tokyo Hotel (July 17 to August 31).

There will also be an Ayacucho music recital by guitarist Shin Sasakubo at the Cervantes Institute in Tokyo on July 23 and other events to be hosted by the Peruvian community in Japan in the next days.
