WBG: Peru has taught important lessons to fight poverty

World Bank Group (WBG) President Jim Yong Kim stressed efforts by the Peruvian government to promote a more equitable development of every sector of the population.

He claimed Peru has taught him important lessons to fight poverty.

After of holding a joint meeting with President Ollanta Humala and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde, he highlighted the progress achieved by Peru over the previous decade.

Likewise, he thanked the Executive Power for its commitment to host and support the organization of WBG/IMF Boards of Governors currently underway in Lima.

He went on to add the said international meeting will have positive results, which will serve to boost joint actions aimed at creating a more prosperous, fair and sustainable world.

Peru’s President of the Republic Ollanta Humala held a work meeting with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim last night at the Government Palace.
