United States' President Barack Obama confirmed his intention to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum Summit taking place in Lima this November, Peru's President-elect Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed on Tuesday.

Peru will host the APEC Leaders’ Summit on November 19-20.

According to the President-elect, both leaders addressed the matter on the phone.

As is known, President Obama congratulated Kuczynski on his victory in the presidential run-off election.

Mr. Obama also commended the Peruvian people for again demonstrating their commitment to democratic values through a peaceful election process. 

The two leaders reaffirmed the close relationship the United States and Peru enjoy and committed to work together to foster inclusive growth. 

Both politicians also discussed developments in Latin America more broadly, including the importance of defending democracy and human rights.
