For the first time, renowned U.S. brand John Varvatos launched its Winter collection including Peruvian alpaca-fiber garments, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Eduardo Ferreyros stated.

Within the framework of President Kuczynski's State visit to New York this week, Ferreyros met with said company representatives.

It must be noted John Varvatos is an American brand aimed at male buyers. Its products are made of sophisticated materials and feature avant-garde designs.

Accessories such as belts, bags, footwear, glasses, watches and fragrances shine at its stores. Among products, garments made of Peruvian Pima cotton also stand out.

For the first time, Peru’s alpaca wool has been used in its sweaters and scarves, designer and brand-creator John Varvatos pointed out.

Such firm distributes its collections at stores located in main U.S. cities, London and other world capitals.

Likewise, John Varvatos makes important sales via Internet, as well as at department stores.

In talks with the said company's design and production team, managers expressed their interest in continuing to produce goods in Peru. Quality production, creativity and the extraordinary delivery service were highlighted at the meeting.

It must be pointed out Ferreyros meetings are part of the promotion of brands: "Alpaca de Perú" (Peru's Alpaca) and "Perú Textiles" (Peru Textiles).
