U.S. Ambassador to Peru Brian A. Nichols pointed out his country, an Observer State at the Pacific Alliance, sees “many opportunities” lying ahead of the bloc.
The said bloc is composed of member states: Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru, countries he considered “strategic partners.”
“[The Pacific Alliance represents] an enormous step forward, many opportunities for Observer States; we are highly interested in the progress of the Alliance [...],” he told TV Peru news channel.
Likewise, the diplomat indicated the bloc member nations are strategic partners of the U.S., a country which already signed Free Trade Agreements with each of those republics.
“Those countries are naturally attractive to us,” Nichols pointed out.
The Pacific Alliance, composed of Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru, is an economic and trade integration mechanism that seeks to build a deep integration area to achieve free movement of goods, services, capitals and people; as well as to promote greater growth, development and competiveness of its economies.
Furthermore, it is aimed at becoming an economic, trade integration platform with worldwide projection and special emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region.
