100 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), based in eight Peruvian regions, will have the chance to internationalize products by attending Centro Exporta 2016 macro business roundtable, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva projected.

The event will take place in Sothern city of Ica on April 26th, 2016.

It will see the participation of SMEs based in Huanuco, Pasco, Junin, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Cusco, Puno and Ica regions, along with more than 30 purchasers from North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Foreigners

"This activity aims at bringing exporting supplies from agricultural and agro-industrial SMEs closer to purchasers from different areas of the world […]," Silva highlighted.

International entrepreneurs are also expected to learn about trade and investment opportunities offered by Peruvian regions located in the highlands and central coast.

This macro roundtable will see the participation of over 30 purchasers from: North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America including United States, Canada, France, Denmark, United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal, Chile, Brazil and Colombia. Companies were selected with the support of Peru’s Trade Offices (OCEX) based abroad.

Products

Processed fruits and vegetables, aguaymanto, dried potatoes, maca, quinoa, sacha-inchi, chia, kiwicha, Lima beans, beans, Hass and Fuerte avocados, sweet granadilla, ginger, berries, grapes, asparagus, onion, peppers and tangerines will be negotiated at the event. Pisco is also likely to be included on the list.

In this sense, trade commitments are expected to exceed US$20.5 million.

Centro Exporta is organized by Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry, Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), Ica Region Government, Ica's Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur) and the Regional Directorate of Agriculture (DRA).

Likewise, the event is supported by the Peruvian Agricultural Guilds Association (AGAP).

A specialized seminar will be held, and visits to Ica-based agricultural farms will be paid.
