Pope Francis carried out a series of activities in La Libertad region's capital, Trujillo, on the third day (Saturday) of his intense trip to Peru.
The first one was an
open-air mass the Bishop of Rome led for around 500,000 believers at Huanchaco Beach.
Then, the Holy Father greeted pilgrims from his Popemobile as he
toured the streets of the city.
Later, he led a
meeting with the priests, religious authorities, and seminarists belonging to 11 ecclesiastical districts in northern Peru.
