Ship arrivals, departures to and from Peru rose 17.5% in H1 2012

Ship arrivals and departures to and from Peruvian ports between January and June in 2012 increased 17.53 percent compared to the same period in 2011, Peru’s National Port Authority (APN) said.
Peruvian ports received and sent 14,987 and 12,753 ships in the first half of 2012 and 2011, respectively.

In June, Peruvian ports received 1,151 ships and sent 1,163. River ports received the largest number of ships with a total of 591, while seaports received 560 ships.

Among the ships received in that month, 161 were general cargo ships, 145 container ships, 132 tankers, 95 passenger ships, 67 bulk carriers, 22 Ro-Ro and 577 of other types.
