Prime Minister Ana Jara announced in Sunday the new edition of the “meeting for national dialogue” will be held on Tuesday 3rd.
It intends to assess topics related to the political reforms before its corresponding topic-debate is held in Congress.
She reminded the invitations to political forces have already been issued.
“We want to express our political willingness, we, the ones who have a representation in Congress, to support the reform, which will be debated this week at the Parliament,” she told America Television channel.
According to the Prime Minister, the country “requires to perfect” its electoral mechanisms aimed at the upcoming 2016 elections.
From her point of view, the political forces must “think” about Peru by the time those define a position in regard to the proposed reforms.
“We wait for all political leaders, with Mr. President of the Republic, at the Government Palace in order to strengthen this unity and to cast the votes required at Congress to approve the electoral reform,” she expressed.
During the last meeting for dialogue, held on February 9 this year, representatives from the 15 political parties debated about a political agenda. It was agreed to close temporarily the National Directorate of Intelligence (DINI).
Former President, Alan Garcia, and former Congresswoman, Keiko Fujimori, had ejected to attend the meeting at that time.
