During the past week, online searches for Peruvian national soccer team jerseys have increased by 100%.
It is the result of the good performance displayed by the team at current Copa America Chile 20015 tournament, online free classifieds platform OLX affirmed.
"The good results achieved by the Peruvian team at Copa America [tournament] have led to raising great expectations of Peruvian fans, who experience this tournament in a special way, compared to those from other countries, due to its [Peruvian team] absence in World Cup [tournaments]," The Expansion Manager for Latin America at OLX, Jaime Macaya expressed.
It must be noted 30% of searches led to purchases at prices 40% lower than the original ones.
"OLX reunites the seller with the potential buyer, and they negotiate the acquisition. [...] products on sale starting at S/.90.00 [about US$28.48] can be found," he said.
Likewise, other fans offer Copa America sticker albums; soccer star Paolo Guerrero's cleats collection and other products.
By the beginning of the tournament, the search for Peru jerseys had increased by 48%.
