Rock legend Bono arrives in Peru

Bono, legendary frontman of Irish rock band U2 arrived in Peru to visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu located in Peru’s central Cusco region.

Paul David Hewson (also known as Bono) arrived at Jorge Chavez International Airport on Thursday evening at 22:00 hours (03:00 GMT) accompanied by his family and members of his security team.

The rock star left the airport on a white van and headed to a hotel in the Lima district of Miraflores.

Some fans showed up at the airport to greet and welcome the famous Irish singer.

Bono has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, was granted an honorary knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, and was named as a Person of the Year by Time, among other awards and nominations.
