The Qhapaq Ñan project has transferred the maintenance and restoration works —that will be conducted on seven stretches of the Andean roads system— to the Archaeological Monuments and Sites Management Section attached to Cusco’s Decentralized Directorate of Culture (DDCC).

The tasks to be developed are: Restoring the pre-Hispanic Paqlachapata-Lacco-Abra de Ccorao path and the Paqlachapata-Vía Circunvalación sub-stretch.

According to the DDCC, restoration works on the Totora Paqcha archaeological site, the Chinchero-Urquillos Pre-Hispanic trail and Qespiwanka and Ninamarka archaeological sites will also be executed.

The Qhapaq Ñan project has invested in the development of projects, which comprise restoration, conservation and valuing of the areas.

It also seeks for raising people's awareness by promoting and spreading information regarding these sites.
