Puno will showcase the best of its alpaca fiber designs at Peru Moda 2013 fashion show to be held in April in Lima, Puno's Regional President Mauricio Rodriguez said Friday.
Rodriguez noted that the regional government is working with Peru's export and tourism promotion board, Promperu, on how to show Puno's potential at the event.
Foreign models will parade Punos' designs using alpaca fiber down the catwalk.
"Peru Moda 2013 will allow first-time artisans to enter the international market," Rodriguez added.
He also stated that the regional government seeks to promote artisans' potential in making alpaca garments.
