President-Elect Pedro Pablo Kuczynski asked Peruvians to be united, after accepting the presidential credentials, from the National Election Board (JNE) in a solemn session held at the Municipal Theater in Lima.
“We had a very tight election and votes were split in half. I urge my supporters and opponents to get together to govern,” he claimed.
He said everybody has to cooperate to reach agreements and, therefore, suppress some objections.
Credentials were also granted to Martin Vizcarra and Mercedes Araoz, thereby naming them first and second Vice-Presidents-Elect, respectively.
