Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday assured the Inca nation continues to work towards —and will achieve— development.
"We are still working, Peru is still working," he said while inspecting excavation works at
Wari Archaeological Complex in southern Ayacucho region this morning.
The statesman highlighted progress made at the site and vowed to request further support for the said
archaeological efforts.
"We need to emphasize the value of areas like
Ayacucho, an emblematic Peruvian zone of the
fight against terrorism that has great tourism development potential," he pointed out.
The 78-year-old leader also underlined the region's progress in
education in recent years and congratulated teachers on the achievement.
Culture Minister Salvador del Solar and renowned operatic tenor Juan Diego Florez joined the President on the occasion.
Mr. Kuczynski will then head to Huamanga city to launch Ayacucho Waytarin (Ayacucho Blooms) touristic and cultural development plan.
