The 112 legislative decrees issued by the Executive under Congress-granted powers are aimed at modernizing the Peruvian State, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski reiterated on Tuesday.

He noted a demanding endeavor, digitalizing, debureaucratizing and eliminating State proceedings proves necessary and constitute a challenge to prevent the country from remaining stagnated.

In this respect, the Head of State stressed government efforts to benefit southern Peru and create a major industrial complex there.

On the other hand, the statesman mentioned vineyards and eco-friendly solar panel initiatives he observed on his way to the southern district.

"We have a range of major environment, industry and prosperity initiatives; we need to promote industries in Peru. We are lagging in this respect, but we have enormous potential," he affirmed.

Remarks were made during the opening of a new galvanizing plant in Lurin. A barren area 30 years ago, the sector has grown thanks to the Camisea Gas Project, which reaches Lurin before expanding into Lima Metropolitan Area.

As is known, the Executive Branch issued 112 decrees under Congress-granted powers. Said measures focus on five topics: citizen security, economic reactivation and formalization, fight against corruption, State-run PetroPeru reshuffle, as well as water and sanitation services implementation.

Plant

Owned by national steel-product manufacturer Tupemesa, the plant aims to become one of South America's most modern and sustainable galvanizing facilities.

The project also seeks to contribute to employment generation, cutting-edge technology and infrastructure development. Likewise, it is intended to enhance industry competitiveness and boost foreign investments.

The mill will offer services to different companies, particularly in the metal-mechanic industry.
