Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski will receive a Regional Emergency Operations Center (COER) report after overflying affected areas in Tumbes amid heavy rains and landslides battering Peru.
As is known, the Peruvian leader headed to Iquitos to verify the rising water level of Amazon River and to preside over the launch of the Itinerant Social Action Platforms (PIAS).
“We are going to Tumbes; we plan to fly over the northern Amazon area to assess the situation in that region, which is of great concern due to the rise in water level. Moreover, I will receive a report by COER,” Mr. Kuczynski said in a video posted on Facebook.
According to the Press Secretary Office, the 78-year-old will hold an audience with members of Tumbes’ Regional Emergency Operations Center (COER) at the Regional Government auditorium.
During the meeting, he will be given a report on the situation and actions implemented to deal with this emergency.
In addition, he will deliver water pumps to regional authorities, and inspect San Jose neighborhood in Tumbes.
The Head of State is accompanied by second Vice-President Mercedes Araoz, Labor and Employment Promotion Minister Alfonso Grados, Production Minister Bruno Giuffra, as well as Deputy Minister of Political and Social Assessment Maria Eugenia Mujica.
The delegation also comprises lawmakers Jorge Melendez, Alberto de Belaunde, Gilbert Violeta, and Navy Commander General Gonzalo Rios Polastri, among other officials.
