President Kuczynski coordinates foreign aid in time of natural disasters

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed he is coordinating international assistance to address emergency caused by heavy rains, landslides and flooding in Peru.

He has received a call from Colombian counterpart Juan Manuel Santos, who expressed willingness to support Peru in such a difficult moment.

“We are coordinating aid from abroad; Colombia’s President has called me. They’ve got a very efficient Indeci (State-run National Civil Defense Institute) that might help us out, too,” he told Latina TV channel.

The Head of State explained the Government is organized and has given out tasks to deal with natural disasters in the best possible way.

He went on to add every State minister has been tasked to coordinate aid in a determined region, and that National Civil Defense Institute, Armed Forces, as well as National Police are working constantly. 

Coordination is also made with private sector companies, and many of them have already sent in their contributions.
