Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski arrived in Rome on Wednesday ahead of his Friday meeting with Pope Francis at the Holy See.
"I've made it to Rome after a long trip, and I'm ready to start the preparations for the meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican," he posted on Facebook.
Upon his arrival, Mr. Kuczynski was welcomed by Pope Francis emissaries and Peruvian Ambassador to Italy Luis Iberico, among other national and international authorities.

Previously, Peru's top official will hold a private audience with Vatican representatives to define the subjects to be discussed with Jorge Bergoglio.
According to the Head of State, his meeting with the Pope will address topics linked to climate change and environmental conservation.
Likewise, he will meet Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin to discuss issues of bilateral interest and the situation in Latin America.
The hearing with the South American leader will take place months before the
pontiff's trip to Peru, scheduled for January 18-21, 2018. His Holiness' tour will include the cities of Lima, Puerto Maldonado
and Trujillo.
