President Ollanta Humala emphasized during his term, the government is eliminating the gap in education by improving the educational infrastructure of a thousand schools, this year and relying on a budget of more than US$1.2 billion for this sector.

The Head of State indicated there are 3 to 4 schools being either improved or opened each day.

Never before in Peru's history a government had enlarged “so much” the budget allocated for education, reaching the 3.5% of the GDP as this administration has, he stated.

"We are rapidly eliminating the educational gap," he told and informed the government has set aside US$1.3 billion for the Education sector.

This budget will also be allocated for improving the High Performance Schools, Beca 18 scholarship, Beca Presidente de la Republica scholarship, Qali Warma program and the teachers training program.

Among other topics, he said this year the weekly hours of education at public schools will be increased from 33 to 45 weekly hours.

During the opening ceremony of the public school N°38132 in Morochucos, he said the economic growth is not useful if it does not come with social inclusion and a good administration of the resources of the State.

"This government calls itself the social inclusion government because it goes beyond the left-wing or right wing, we work for the people, for the disadvantaged ones," he stated.
