Peru's National Tambos Program beneficiaries will double to one million, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso affirmed on Monday.
According to Mr. Humala, nearly 500,000 citizens were assisted through this initiative, by providing them with access to health, identity, social payments, internet, among other services.
The President led the official ceremony marking the delivery of ISO 9001-2015 certification to the said national program at Lima's Government Palace.
Tambos program is an innovative, creative proposal intended to bring State-run social assistance services closer to poor citizens residing in rural remote areas.
It aims to improve their life quality, generate equality and opportunities, develop or reinforce individual and community productive skills, as well as to facilitate prompt response to disasters.
Likewise, the top official noted such program belongs to the government-implemented inclusion policy whose efforts are focused on poorest communities.
In this sense, the President urged the coming administration to continue building such centers across the country.

ISO 9001 helps organizations demonstrate to customers that they can offer products and services of consistently good quality. It also acts as a tool to streamline their processes and make them more efficient.
ISO 9001:2015 replaces previous editions and certification bodies will have up to three years to migrate certificates to the new version.
