Peruvian President Ollanta Humala assured the Productive Diversification Policy, led by small producers, will turn Peru into a more competitive country.

This type of infrastructure fits perfectly with the Productive Diversification Policy developed by the regional Government, Humala said while opening the Technological Innovation Center (CITE) in Huaura, northern Lima.

He assured his administration will have built 25 new CITEs and other 20 will be under construction by the end of his term in office.

“We hope the next government to finish them, because the country cannot stop. We are talking about 45 CITEs, which have been prioritized to foster productive activities in a rudimentary stage and give them the stimulus they require to expand their profitability,” the Peruvian leader stated.

“If we want to lift our children out of poverty, then we need to learn how to produce our farms, and that is why we have created CITE. We have to take advantage of our products and industrialize them, so that nothing is wasted,” Mr. Humala added.

Peru will not become a modern nation if its agricultural sector remains rudimentary, he continued, hence the need to continue granting more opportunities and infrastructure to farmers.
