Premier League targets Peru’s striker Paolo Guerrero

Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero has been alerted to interest from a number of Premier League clubs and is considering a move back to Europe, it has been reported.

The former Bayern Munich striker is currently boosting Corinthians' hopes of winning the Brazilian title, but has been alerted to interest from a number of English clubs.

Sunderland, West Ham and QPR are all understood to be monitoring the former Bayern Munich man's situation, and he is keen to have one more crack at European football.

A source close to the player told goal.com: "Paolo is aware of interest from England and is keen to pursue it."

Guerrero joined Bayern from Alianza Lima in 2003 and enjoyed nine-year spell in the Bundesliga, scoring 47 league goals with the Bavarians and Hamburg.

The 30-year-old moved back to South America with Brazilian giants Corinthians in 2012 and he has continued his good form with 20 goals in 53 games in all competitions.

According to goal.com, Corinthians are currently second in Serie A after 12 matches, five points behind leaders Cruzeiro.

Guerrero enjoyed the league's break for the World Cup by attending the Argentina v Netherlands semi-final and the final in Rio de Janeiro.
