Pope Francis ended a four-day pastoral visit to Chile on Thursday afternoon.
The northern city of Iquique hosted the last papal activity on Chilean soil.
The Supreme Pontiff was bid farewell at the local airport to board the aircraft that will take him to Lima, Peru.
Francis was escorted to the mobile stairway of the Latam plane by President Michelle Bachelet, as well as by political, military, and ecclesiastical authorities of the neighboring country.
