Pope Francis has always had close ties with the Inca country which will welcome him on January 18-21, 2018.
As proof of said ties, an image above shows the moment when His Holiness gladly receives a Peruvian "chullo," a typical woolen cap worn by the residents of High-Andean areas to protect their heads from cold weather.
Likewise, he can be seen blessing a picture of Peruvian Saint Martin de Porres.
The upcoming visit to the Andean country was announced by the Peruvian Episcopal Conference (CEP) on Monday morning.
As is known, Pope Francis last May expressed his
wish to visit Peru in 2018.
Last March, His Holiness
sent a contribution of US$100,000 to Peru as an expression of love and sympathy with the South American nation to tackle "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon.
