Pluspetrol foresees to invest between US$300 million and US$400 million in Lot 108 as part of its exploration plan to find hydrocarbons in the country, General Manager German Jimenez said on Tuesday.

“These works include exploration drilling. The feasibility-study phase will be completed within the following years to make important finds,” he said.

In 2005, Pluspetrol signed a license agreement with the Peruvian State to operate Lot 108, a rectangular strip of land (1.2 million ha) in Junin.

Lot 76 is also at the evaluation stage. “The operator in this case is Hunt, but all partners are evaluating the actions to be taken,” he commented.

Pluspetrol participates in the license agreement to explore and exploit hydrocarbons in Lot 76 (Madre de Dios), which is operated by Hunt Oil and Repsol Exploracion Peru.

This company has operated the Camisea project for 16 years. The field lies in the Lower Urubamba river basin in Cusco region.
