Peruvian boxer Jonathan Maicelo upset Mexican pugilist Jose Felix Jr. (No 16 in the World Boxing Council rankings) with scores of 95-90, 97-88, 96-90 in El Paso, Texas.

Nicknamed "The Cobra," Maicelo knocked down Felix Jr five times in the fight. He showed his power since the very beginning after he dropped Felix in the first round to the surprise of the crowd.

The Mexican was taken aback and started to counterattack right after that; however, the Callao-born fighter relied on a strong defense and dropped him again in the third round, twice in the fifth and one more time in the ninth.

This was a ten round unanimous decision win over Felix. The judges’ scores read as follows: 95-90, 97-88, 96-90, all for the Peruvian.
