Peru's annual inflation rate would be low in May this year and, this way, return to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR) target range of 1% to 3%, investment bank Credit Suisse predicted.
Credit Suisse's Peru economist Juan Lorenzo Maldonado said the consensus average forecast advised that inflation would reach 0.3% in May, higher, however, than its own forecast of 0.1%.
“This would translate into an annual inflation rate of 2.9%, lower than the 3% recorded in April,” he noted.
Maldonado recalled the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) will inform on Monday of Lima Metropolitan Area’s inflation performance of May, 2015.
