The President of the Republic of Peru Pedro Pablo Kuczynski holds a meeting with President of the Swiss Confederation Doris Leuthard at Lima's Government Palace on Friday.
Ms. Leuthard was welcomed with corresponding honors upon arrival at the site.
Afterwards, she was greeted by Ministers: Ricardo Luna (Foreign Affairs), Martin Vizcarra (Transport and Communications), Maria Soledad Perez Tello (Justice and Human Rights), Marilu Martens (Education), Elsa Galarza (Environment) and Gonzalo Tamayo (Energy and Mines).
Both leaders will discuss economic and trade policy, cooperation in legal matters and cultural affairs, as well as climate change and human rights.
"With my visit, I wish to contribute to further strengthening the interconnection between [Peru's and Switzerland's] economic centers, thus deepening our close friendship ties," said Ms. Leuthard in an article published by local El Comercio daily.
Yesterday, the illustrious guest began a two-day official visit to Peru, joined by Swiss high-ranking officials and a business delegation.
Ms. Leuthard will also be present at the launch of the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs' (SECO) cooperation strategy for 2017-2020.
It should be noted this is the first time that a Swiss President has paid an official visit to the Inca nation over the countries' 134-year-old bilateral relations.
