Peruvian Paso horse competition takes place in Lambayeque

A total of 250 Peruvian Paso horses from farms in Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad and Cajamarca will compete with one another to place first at the 65th North Peruvian Horse Show- Chiclayo 2014.

Taking place from Friday, Oct. 31 to Sunday, Nov. 2, the competition aims to bring together a wide variety of quality gaited horses, with males, females and geldings present in 43 different categories.

The animals will be assessed and graded by judge Jose Risso in accordance with the new official regulations established by the Association of Breeders and Owners of Paso Horses in La Libertad.

The announcement was made by the chairman of the Organizing Committee, Carlos Dibos, who said the best horses and mares will vie for first place at the most important horse show after the National Competition. 

In the category of geldings, judges will take into account the horse gait, softness, and strength, whereas in the category of mares and foals conformation will be judged as well.
