The initiative, known as: “¿Y tú qué planes?” (And you, any plans?), won the 11th edition of the United Nations World Tourism Organization's 'Ulysses Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism', announced today Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister, Magali Silva.

The campaign was nominated in the 'Innovation in Public Policy and Governance' category.

The prize was delivered to the minister at the International Tourism Trade Fair (Fitur) event currently held in Madrid.

Austrian and Crotian projects were the Peruvian campaign's challengers.

“This is a great recognition for the work conducted by PromPeru and the private sector, thanks to a government policy, which seeks to promote the country's development and to generate integration,” Silva expressed.

According to the minister, Peru's domestic travelling increased by 4.3% during 2014.

The campaign benefits local, regional and national tourism “by promoting new destinations through a campaign, which seeks to generate a travel habit among Peruvians,” she said.
