Peruvian fruits, vegetables to shine at Fruit Logistica 2017 in Germany

This year’s edition of Fruit Logistica, the world’s largest trade show for fruits and vegetables, will showcase Peruvian products from February 8-10 in Berlin, Germany where the event is set to take place, Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) and Promperu informed on Saturday.

The Peruvian delegation will be headed by Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Eduardo Ferreyros, and supported by Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry (Minagri), National Agricultural Sanitation Service (Senasa), Association of Peruvian Farming Producers (Agap), Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex), German-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as Economic and Commercial Counsellors of Peru in Europe.

The event’s last edition gathered 2,884 exhibitors from 83 countries and drew 70,000 professionals from 130 countries around the globe.

The launch of the “Peruvian Super Foods” brand will take place there in order to bring about health, function and nutrition-related features of Peruvian products like blueberry, camu camu, maca and anchovy, on a global basis.
  
Peruvian entrepreneurs

More than 300 businessmen from Arequipa, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima and Piura will be represented by associations attending the event. 

Products will be displayed at a 512-meter stall for thousands of fairgoers visiting the fair each day.

This time, Peru will present an attractive variety of fruits and vegetables including blueberries, bananas, asparagus, pomegranates, sweet granadillas, ginger, tangerines, mangoes, avocados and grapes, which proved to be highly demanded in the European market over the past few years.

After its participation, Peru is projected to close deals worth over US$135 million within the following twelve months, a similar figure compared to the 2016 edition.
