Peru will continue to lead growth in the region, as the economy is expected to rebound strongly in the fourth quarter of the year, said Monday Luis Miguel Castilla, the country's Economy and Finance Minister.
"We are confident that in the last quarter of this year, especially in 2015 and 2016, the Peruvian economy will pick up once again and the country will continue lead the region in terms of growth and welfare of citizens,” he said.

According to Castilla, growth will be driven by higher investments in new infrastructure projects and the rebound in the primary sector.

Likewise, the senior government official pointed out that higher investment will lead to quality jobs across the country and, therefore, to improved quality of life for all Peruvians.

"We are absolutely committed to working to reactivate the Peruvian economy," he added.

Castilla gave these remarks after attending the Solemn Mass and Te Deum at the Basilica Cathedral of Lima, on the occasion of Peru’s Independence Day celebrations.
