The Peruvian economic landscape is already showing "signs of unblocking," the National Confederation of Private Business Associations (Confiep) affirmed.
Confiep President Roque Benavides underlined Peru has started to overcome the rough patch triggered by the
Lava Jato corruption scandal, which led to the halting of major infrastructure projects.
"Corruption events did not allow for a rapid unblocking of economic activity, as President Kuczynski had anticipated. Thank God we do see signs of unblocking now," he said.
"When we notice growth benefits are not reaching rural areas, we must ask ourselves: 'What are we doing wrong?'," he observed.
Once again, the Confiep head underscored the role of
investment projects in rural development and the fight against poverty.
Lastly, Benavides highlighted the role of the private sector in fostering more capital flows to this end.
"We need all Peruvian economic sectors and business sphere, which has a responsibility, to get involved," he concluded
