Trade in 2011 between the two countries stood at US$ 1.77 billion, while Peru's traditional exports to this market grew 60 percent between January and April over the same period last year and reached US$ 81.8 million.
It was also reported that 12 Peruvian companies (including large, medium and small) will attend Intermoda, one of the largest and most important fairs in the textile and clothing from Mexico, which begins on Tuesday in Guadalajara.
This fair brings together in each of its two annual editions 700 local and international exhibitors and more than 1,200 export offer stands. In each edition, the fair is visited by over 20,000 buyers and representatives of retail chains, boutiques and brand networks looking for offshore outsourcing services.
Promperu noted that on July 18 at the Jalisco lounge of the Intermoda fair will be a Peru’s fashion show called "Pasarela Perú Moda". There will be exhibited garments from Harumi Momota’s collection, Peruvian designer and Peru’s country brand ambassador who was previously as a guest on the show.
