10:01 Peruvian ambassador to Holy See presents credentials to Pope Benedict XVI
 
Lima, Apr. 28 (ANDINA). Cesar Castillo Ramirez has presented today to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI the Letters accrediting him as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the Holy See.

Castillo recently served as Peru's diplomatic representative to Italy and to the Rome-based United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

He also served as ambassador to Egypt between 2004 and 2099.

Castillo Ramirez, born in Chiclayo on July 16, 1947, has a degree in International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy of Peru.

During his diplomatic career he has held various positions such as third secretary at the Embassy of Peru in Austria (1974-1977), second secretary at the Embassy of Peru in India (1978-1979), and Director of Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1980-1982).
