Auckland (New Zealand), Nov. 9.
Peruvian fullback Luis Advincula might replace Aldo Corzo in the first Peru-New Zealand FIFA World Cup intercontinental playoff match in Wellington this weekend.

In this sense, team coach Ricardo Gareca may pick Advincula to launch a better Peruvian attack, given the athlete's speed and power, which could be a threat to New Zealand's defense.

Advincula —who currently defends Mexican club Lobos BUAP— may reinforce Andre Carrillo's play zone.

As is known, Carrillo is one of the most feared Peruvian athletes by the All Whites due to his talent, unpredictable ability and speed.

If picked, Advincula would be part of the defense along with Miguel Trauco, Alberto Rodriguez and Christian Ramos.

Yet, such decision is up to Gareca since Corzo —who is known due to his commitment, style and strict compliance with rules— is a regular player in the Inca line-up.

Matches

The first leg of Peru-New Zealand FIFA World Cup intercontinental playoff tie will take place at Wellington's Westpac Stadium on November 11 at 4:15 PM (local time).

The return leg will be held at Lima's National Stadium (Peru) on November 15 at 9:15 PM (local time).

Following both clashes, it will be known —finally— if Peruvians return to a World Cup after 35 years.
