"Peruvian Squash & Quinoa Soup" has been recently introduced to Canadian consumers through Loblaws supermarket chain, which comprises over 2,000 stores in the North American country.

The said product —prepared and packed in Canada— is made of Peruvian ingredients, such as "quinoa" and yellow chili peppers.

"Peruvian Squash & Quinoa Soup" launch obeys to the growing demand for our country's gastronomic and agro-industrial products.

Products are promoted by Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) through its Toronto-based Trade Office (OCEX Toronto).

Promotion activities are aimed at boosting and disseminating information concerning Peruvian non-traditional products, tourist destinations and investment opportunities available in the South American nation.

It must be noted Loblaws' interest in acquiring products began during the OCEX Toronto-supported Trade Mission back in 2013.

On that occasion, five Canadian executives traveled to Peru to identify products. Thus, they were able to learn about local gastronomy and contacted 38 suppliers.
