Peru's sol closes weaker; no central bank purchases

Peru's sol closed weaker Thursday at PEN2.802 per U.S. dollar compared with PEN2.790 in the previous trading session.

The sol has weakened 0.07 percent against the U.S. dollar so far this year,boosting demand for the foreign commodity.

In the last 12-month period, the Peruvian currency has depreciated 0.25 percent against the greenback.

Meanwhile, the BCR did not intervene in the foreign-exchange market.

Also on Thursday, the BCR auctioned a one-year PEN100 million deposit certificate (CD BCRP) at an average rate of 3,67 percent.
