Peru's sol closes stronger; no central bank purchases

Peru's sol finished stronger Wednesday at PEN2.787 per U.S. dollar compared with PEN2.791 in the previous trading session.
The sol has strengthened 0.46 percent against the U.S. dollar so far this year, having positive impact in the country's purchasing power.

In the last 12-month period, the Peruvian currency has depreciated 0.25 percent against the greenback.

Meanwhile, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) of Peru did not intervene in the foreign-exchange market.

Also on Wednesday, the BCR auctioned a one-year PEN 200 million deposit certificate (CD BCRP) at an average rate of 3,53 percent. 

Likewise, a eighteen-month PEN 100 million deposit certificate (CD BCRP) was auctioned at an average rate of 3,66 percent.
